EIC Transition project

Volumetric spatial transcriptomics for 3D culture-innovated drug development

Project summary

Spatial biology is transforming how we understand disease, but most existing tools are limited to 2D tissue sections or lack the resolution and scalability needed for real-world drug discovery and diagnostic applications.

‍

With a €2 million non-dilutive grant from the European Innovation Council (EIC) Transition Program, Cubase Bio is advancing its 3D spatial transcriptomic technology from TRL 4 to TRL 6 transforming an early-stage innovation into a validated, commercial-ready prototype.

‍

Over the course of the project, the technology will be validated across a range of 3D organoid models, with automation integrated into the workflow to improve reproducibility and throughput. The result will be ready-to-use reagent kits and software prototypes, tested in real-world conditions by early-access partner laboratories.
